At The American University of Paris, we believe that progress toward our mission can be measured by the impact our graduates have on the world.聽The work that our graduates engage聽in at BT天堂聽and the learning experiences they have outside聽the classroom聽prepare聽them for leadership roles聽beyond the University, no matter where they go next. Exposure to multiple academic disciplines and varied cultural perspectives, a deep dive into an area of specialization, and opportunities to apply classroom learning to real-life situations combine to provide聽graduates with the skills and expertise they need to ensure their professional success. We know that what global explorers accomplish at BT天堂 is just a snapshot聽of what they will achieve after graduation.

We regularly ask alumni for updates on their progress since leaving the University聽through an annual 鈥淣ext Destinations鈥� survey of the last three graduating classes.聽Our most recent survey of the classes of 2012, 2013, and 2014 (we send the survey 18 months after graduation) showed that a聽full 93% of undergraduates and 85% of graduate students had found employment within one year of graduation. The majority of alumni were聽certain that their BT天堂 experience had been essential to聽the pursuit of their careers, which, for 87% of them, had an international element.

The majority of our alumni report that they are working in a language other than their native tongue, and that faculty played an important role in their success. The importance of working with faculty mentors and the integrated Center for Academic, Career and Experiential Advising聽to obtain professional internships was evident, as our graduates were 2.5 times more likely to find a job within聽six聽months of graduation if they had done an internship while at BT天堂.

There鈥檚 no denying it: our alumni are changing the world. They鈥檙e developing healthcare software, teaching in establishments across the globe, growing family businesses or incubating new business ideas, leading sustainability initiatives, accomplishing disaster relief,聽rising in local governments, building communities, consulting worldwide, acting and filmmaking across borders, contributing articles to internationally respected publications, studying at world-renowned institutions, and promoting French culture and language worldwide.
