Your BT天堂 NetID

Each account starts with a unique BT天堂 NetID. It is the computer network account that gives you access to the University鈥檚 digital services.听

You can use your NetID as a key to access the student or faculty portal, computers on campus, your personal storage space, your email account,听Blackboard, campus Wi-Fi, your library account and more.

听

If you're a student, your BT天堂 NetID听will be "a" followed by your student number - ex:听a123456.

If you're a faculty or staff member, your BT天堂 NetID is the first letter of your first name followed by your last name. For example, if your name is David Smith, it will be dsmith.

Your BT天堂 email

Upon enrollment, every student, faculty and staff member鈥痠s听given an BT天堂 email account.听

All official university communications are sent to听your BT天堂 email听address.听It is therefore听important that you听check听it听daily. Please note听that听email听automatic听forwarding听to an external domain听is not allowed.听

Your听primary听email address is composed of your听NetID + @aup.edu (NetIDataup.edu)鈥痑nd it has the same password as your NetID.鈥疊esides, anyone can email you听typing your鈥嬏�firstname.lastnameataup.edu, your alternative email address.听

> If you're a student:

  • Your primary email address is therefore the letter 'a'听followed by your student number + @aup.edu鈥�(ex:听a123456ataup.edu)
  • Your alternative email address looks like "sarah.wallaceataup.edu."

> If you're a faculty or staff member:听

  • Your primary email address is therefore the initial of your first name followed by your last name听+ @aup.edu (ex:听dsmithataup.edu)鈥�
  • Your alternative email address looks like 鈥�david.smithataup.edu.鈥�

Please note: your primary email address in the听one听you are using to log in to Office 365, and听any听other service that requires your BT天堂 email address to log in.听听

To check your email at any time online:听

  • Go to鈥疢icrosoft Office ()
  • Sign in听
  • Enter your听primary听BT天堂 email (i.e.鈥�a123456ataup.edu鈥痜or students and鈥�dsmithataup.edu (dsmith)dsmithataup.edu (@aup.edu)鈥痜or faculty and staff members)听as well as听your password.听
  • Click on the Outlook icon鈥�

We strongly recommend that you download the Outlook app on any device you see fit, so that you can听access your inbox听at听any time听as long as听you have听an internet connection.

Digital Storage Space

听

Students, faculty and staff members听are鈥痮ffered听a听digital storage space听called OneDrive听on the BT天堂听Office 365 platform听(one terabyte, the equivalent of 200听hours of film, which is a lot.)鈥嬧�嬧�嬧�嬧�嬏鼳ccess your personal file storage on鈥疧neDrive via鈥�. This is secure way to store your files鈥痮n the cloud. You can connect to OneDrive听at听any time from any device with an internet connection.听听

Print, Scan and Copy

BT天堂 printing service is now available as Print as a Service (PaaS).听鈥�

This service enables staff and students to use their university ID card to print, copy and听scan on SHARP听multifunction devices (MFDs).听鈥婽hanks to the PaaS "secure print" function, your document will only print when you swipe听your card to a MFD听device. This ensures you're the only one who collects your document.听鈥�

When you click "Print", your printing job is sent to a general virtual queue听called听BT天堂rint. You simply have to go to the most convenient SHARP MFD for you.听Just use听your BT天堂 ID card to release your print job(s).鈥嬧��

If you are using this service for the first time, your BT天堂 ID card must be associated with the听printing听system. To do so, please 鈥媠ee 听in the right sidebar.

Frequently Asked Questions - password and email

Can I use my personal email address instead of my BT天堂 address?

Your BT天堂 email account cannot be forwarded to an external address.听You have to use your BT天堂 email address听when conducting university business because important messages from the university are often only sent by email. Only the messages related to your BT天堂 NetID maintenance and password reset听will be sent to your personal address.

Also, the IT department will use this address to keep you informed of application updates, warnings, training and other technical information. Please check your BT天堂 email on a regular basis to keep in touch with your BT天堂 fellow students, colleagues, faculty and staff.

How do I schedule a Teams meeting from Outlook?
  • Go to听听using your web browser
  • Click on the Outlook icon
  • Go to your calendar

  • Double click听on the day and hour you wish to set up a meeting with your class. You can also repeat it for several days of the week with the "Repeat" option.

  • Give a title to your meeting (ex: Class)听
  • Put the class code in the section 鈥淚nvite attendees鈥� (ex:听cm1005)听or individually add students.
  • It is important to听select 鈥淭eams meeting鈥�听in the听dropdown听menu on the right (next to the room/location field)
  • Your students will automatically receive an email with the same link to click on.听听听听听

If you are an alumnus/alumna and would like to request an account or have no longer access to your personal e-mail account, check the corresponding box and fill out the form provided.

If you鈥檙e having other problems logging in:

  • If you are a new employee, your account will be created once you have signed your contract.
  • If you have been newly admitted, you will receive your NetID within two days.
  • If you are trying to access a student government or club account, please contact the Student Leadership Office.

How to print from my personal laptop?
  1. Go to听
  2. Log in with you NetID (and password and follow the instructions on the site).
  3. Choose web-print from the left panel
  4. Click on 鈥淪ubmit a Job鈥�
  5. Select the printer that you want to print on by clicking on 鈥淪elect this printer鈥�
  6. Upload documents
  7. Upload from computer (then select the file you need to print)
  8. Upload and complete

How do I get more printing credits? What is my printing quota and what are the printing fees?

Your quota should be听enough for what you will need to print during your time at BT天堂. If you exceed your quota however,

you will need to purchase additional credits at听.

To be eco-friendly, please do not print if you don鈥檛 need to. The printing quota is the number of pages allotted to students every

semester so that they can print documents on campus,

using either BT天堂 computers or personal devices. Although the quota appears in euros,听you won鈥檛 be charged for it.

  • A regular A4 page in black and white costs 5 cents
  • A regular A4 page in color costs 10 cents
  • An A3 page costs 10 cents in color and 5 cents听in black and white.

I鈥檓 a Professor/Staff. Why does my printing quota shows a negative number?

BT天堂 professors and staff members are not assigned a printing quota, so they will not be charged on your account.

The negative number simply indicates the amount that has been printed from your account.
