After obtaining an undergraduate degree in mathematics at the University of Athens, Professor Svoronou continued her studies in the United States where she completed a PhD in Statistics at the University of Rochester (NY) in 1990. She then joined The American University of Paris (BT天堂)聽as a part-time faculty member and simultaneously taught business statistics and mathematics in various French and American MBA programs (a.o. Boston University, Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chauss茅es) and at the Universit茅 Paris 6. In this period she also provided individual training for the Swiss Bank staff. She became a full-time faculty member at BT天堂 in 1997, where she has been teaching in the department of Computer Science, Mathematics and Science, as well as in the Business department and for the Master program in the International Politics department. During a leave of absence in 2005, she taught at the Universit茅 de Montr茅al. She served as co-chair of the Mathematics, Science and Computer Science department聽from September 2007 to September 2008 and from January 2009 to August 2012.
